One of the most precious gifts we can give ourselves and our loved ones is the opportunity to travel. I consider myself quite fortunate to have been travelling in India with my family since August 2020, followed by two journeys to the United States this year, when I attended the Virtuoso Travel Week in Vegas and visited relatives and friends in the United States, London, and Germany. It’s been a smooth journey; yes, we had to take PCR tests to enter each country, but having the completely vaccinated card from Pfizer made it much easier to get through and also to dine in restaurants, lounges, and museums.

Travel is undoubtedly on the rise; it comes with its own set of obstacles, and I believe we should be open to situations beyond our control, but for the most part, it’s simple. The one location where I felt really unsafe was on the London tube, where no one was wearing a mask and people chose to take Ubers to go around; otherwise, airports and aeroplanes, including the subway in New York, are doing a fantastic job of mandating the use of the mask. We received good news from the WHO, which stated that India is now in the endemic stage, giving us hope that our borders will be opened shortly. I advocate getting the immunisation and wearing a mask in public places.
